DeleteSome nights it's still best to just do one or two picks pregame and then chill as hard as that can be sometimes. For example J S had the right pick to begin with on heat and then goes and gives some of the profit back on the same game just to insure theres a profit at all. Sometimes to insure your picks with live bets or halftime bets is wise and if you can do it right you can even get another winner out of it. or on the other hand sometimes it can litterally make you sick for handing back a portion of your profits on a game just cuz you second guessed your original pick at some point diring the contest. Imo It's all dependent on the live market, if you've got a good play out and have an opportunity to get insurance on the other side in live odds it usually depends on if there is enough people waiting to back the side that's already winning in live odds that determines how valuable the insurance actually is. Last night's case there was not enough bettors out taking the heat when they were already up which Vegas took advantage of as I'm sure there were probably more than a few people thinking that pacers/thunder/warriors/nuggets would comeback and with great odds why not throw some money on them? Well like I just said it has to do with if there's enough people at that moment watching and potentially buying into the heat to win or cover a spread. Last night there obviously was not an even amount because the same happened on a lot of the games ended as outright upsets. Conversely in a situation where there's a team public likes to back playing on a when games are getting more action and during the game say the public fav team is ahead on live odds then more times than not it's a good idea for bettors on the favorite to get some insurance just in case because in this situation typical bettors are going to be thinking they just missed out on a blowout and most will settle for live odds for the favorite even if it means picking them when theyre several points away from the original spread, this is where the value on the underdog is at its peak and bettors can potentially get two winning tickets by taking the underdog plus the extra points. In most cases if it's a busy day for betting and a slight underdog gets a cushy lead I would take the original favorite because that's where the true value lies at that point. Always pay attention to the scores during the timeouts and at the end of quarters too cuz that's when they want the most live betting action to take place. Just remember that and also if it's a busy game for betting and they let an underdog build a somewhat sizable lead with lots of timeouts and breaks in between then I'd argue value lies on the favorite to at least make a comeback more times than not and sometimes even cover original spread.
